چکیده
Placing cylindrical vortex generators (VGs) at the base of a uniform micro-channel heat sink (MCHS) enhances transfer, but incurs substantial pressure drop. The effect different VG parameters, including position (front, middle or back), radius (R) in range (100–300) μm and distance (D) between them (0–500) are considered to enhance conjugate transfer. Laminar flow flux conditions relevant microelectronics water cooling systems (100 W/cm2) used. numerical approach, using COMSOL Multiphysics® software, is validated found be good agreement against benchmark experimental studies. It generally that VGs transfer drop increases. lowest thermal resistance achieved when placing front MCHS with no R = 300 μm, this also results highest penalty. Results show it not necessarily best enhancement leads thermal-hydraulic performance (PEC) index. PEC index position, 100, D 0 Re > 250.

متن کاملFluid Flow and Heat Transfer of Nanofluids over a Flat Plate with Conjugate Heat Transfer
The falling and settling of solid particles in gases and liquids is a natural phenomenon happens in many industrial processes. This phenomenon has altered pure forced convection to a combination of heat conduction and heat convection in a flow over a plate. In this paper, the coupling of conduction (inside the plate) and forced convection of a non-homogeneous nanofluid flow (over a flat plate) ...
متن کاملExperimental study of convective heat transfer coefficient of MgO nanofluid in a cylindrical microchannel heat sink
Convective heat transfer of MgO-water nanofluid in a microchannel heat sink is experimentally investigated in various concentrations of 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.6 wt%. The microchannel consisted of 48 parallel rectangular cross section channels with the height of 800 µm, width of 524 µm and length of 52 mm. A well stability duration (ca. 1 month) was resulted by a 180 min ultra-sonication of the ...
متن کاملTwo-Phase Flow and Heat Transfer in Rectangular Micro-Channels
Knowledge of flow pattern and flow pattern transitions is essential to the development of reliable predictive tools for pressure drop and heat transfer in two-phase micro-channel heat sinks. In the present study, experiments were conducted with adiabatic nitrogenwater two-phase flow in a rectangular micro-channel having a 0.40632.032 mm crosssection. Superficial velocities of nitrogen and water...
